We successfully designed index-compensated multiple quantum well MQW Fabry-Perot (F-P) filters operating at 505 nm as well as other wavelengths of interest to DoD and NASA including 532, 828, 948, 980, and 1064 nm. The wide angle of acceptance of F-P filters is achieved by compensating the red shift due to QCSE and blue shift to oblique incidence. We also experimentally characterized an InGaAs-GaAs MQW filter operating at around 978 nm and exhibiting a 10 degree acceptance angle via index compensation. The filter has 10A passband, contrast ratio of 1000:1 and transmission throughput of 53% and external tunability range of 5nm using QCSE.
