He has also served on the editorial review board of 'Photonics Spectra', a major
trade publication. Mr. Kaplan has been a contributing editor of the magazine
since 1989 and, for several years, wrote a popular monthly column, "Photonics
at Work". He is a past chairman of the Thermosense Conference. For over 35 years, Mr. Kaplan has worked in applications
                      engineering in the photonics field in general, and in infrared
                      sensing and imaging in particular. As an active thermographer,
                      he has conducted measurements for clients including US
                      Army, NASA-JPL, and EPRI. He has provided consulting services
                      for all the major manufacturer of IR thermal imaging equipment
                      and to the EPRI NDE Center in the design and implantation
                      of its IRNDE facility in Charlotte, NC.Continue
